At age 11 Chris was already certain that architecture would be his chosen profession. While growing up in Ohio, Chris focused his time on swimming which, he states, was his “ticket out of the north”. After swimming and studying at Auburn University, he worked for several local Charlotte firms before starting RBA in 2000. Chris is responsible for the overall
direction and management of the company as it continues its smart growth toward the long term vision of RBA.
Chris has been known to get away from the office to feed his love for the ocean. Whether it be a family trip to a warm beach, an open water sailing adventure, or an adrenaline filled day of kitesurfing, Chris is a strong believer that you must feed your heart’s calling with action. He shares his love of the ocean with his wife of 20 years and his 2 children.
A North Carolina native, Christopher grew up in Hendersonville and attended the College of Architecture at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.
His interest in modernism combined with a sensitivity toward traditionalism formed from a relationship with small-town vernacular has crafted a unique design ideal that permeates his work and defines his aesthetic.
Since joining rba in 2012, Christopher has led the design efforts of the firm with a unique hands-on style of involvement in the architectural design and quality control of all major projects. Working closely with each client to ensure each project responds not only to its physical needs but also creates a thoughtful response to how each will ultimately be used and experienced.

Alicia has been with the rba group for an impressive fifteen years and is the epitome of a “lifer” here at rba. She began her career with the firm in 2007 after graduating from a local interior design college in uptown Charlotte, NC. Initially hired as an architectural project designer, she quickly learned that it was best to follow her passion and work within the interior design group honing her skills onto smaller scaled projects with the end user in mind.
Having several years under her belt from working closely with architects on many large scaled hospitality projects, she has been able to apply her architectural knowledge into managing projects of varying scale and across multiple market sectors. Alicia is an NCIDQ certified design professional and effectively begins and ends each project focused on the client’s goals, design concept, time frame and desired budget in mind. Alicia oversees the design, selection, engineering consultants, procurement needs and construction administration for all aspects of the interiors focused projects.
